Are you ready for the winter season yet?
"What to do with one so rare?"
Get cozy, have a cup of tea or hot chocolate, snuggle with your children and furry babies, and follow Aki and Uri as they dash through snowy woods to meet and bond with newly discovered friends.
Free verse poetry is the freedom of not following meter or rhyme rules. Is it poetry or prose? I'd say it is me. Though not everybody may resonate with it, it suits my intention of a fast-paced action story well, which is true to Aki and Uri's personalities. My hope is that children will enjoy and learn from the repetition of action words and feel their energy.
Everywhere there is a notepad, a pen, a pet, a cup of coffee or tea, and a chair.
A bench or grass at the park will do it, too.
When you can't help but tilt your head to read the titles.
For the love of seeing them piling up.
Through Aki and Uri's Adventures, I aim to help people discover the joy of reading and looking at creativity born from talent and hard work. I believe reading, writing, and illustrating are a source of entertainment and a way to learn, grow, and connect with the visionary self and others.
I have read picture books to children in a library for five years; my creativity and passion for art are inspired by the work of outstanding writers and illustrators who have committed their time and passion to their craft before me.
Aki and Uri's Adventures series illustrations were born from the bond between me, Aki, Uri, children, storytelling, and my love for drawing and watercolor.
Digital books are an excellent way to save money and trees; I get it, but oh, the joy of turning pages.
How many times have you wished to be tiny so you could sit on a page, experience the magic of books, and be closer to the characters?
...or climb on them?
I have an MFA from the Academy of Art University of San Francisco. I enjoy drawing, painting, reading, gardening, long walks in nature, and listening to music.
